What’s up hip-hop lovers and general cool culture aficionados? I heard some talk that we don’t put on for the DMV. What?! For those who don’t know and therefore aren’t hip, DMV stands for DC, Maryland and Virginia, basically the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. We’ve played countless DMV artists on this show!! Look at the past guests tab on our website and see all the dope DMV artists we’ve interviewed. And, aren’t we the same show that helped launch Def Jam signed artist and XXL 2013 Freshman Logic’s career? I thought so. But, it’s all good. We love where we’re from so much we’re gonna take this opportunity to put on for the DMV even more!! This SUNDAY it’s gonna be ALL DMV EVERYTHING!! All the music we play is gonna be by DMV artists. Except for J. Cole’s mixtape “Yours Truly 2″, which we’re gonna profile as well. In addition, we’re gonna interview Phil Ade LIVE on the show and we’re gonna play an EXCLUSIVE record off his upcoming mixtape, R.O.S.E. (Result of Society’s Evil)!! So, tune in this SUNDAY 4PM-6PM FOR ALL THE MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. Click below to TUNE IN LIVE.
We’ve officially made the move from WMUC 88.1 FM to WMUC Digital! Here’s some of the reasons why… WMUC Digital allows us more freedom. Our music and our conversations will be completely uncensored. The new time from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoons is more convenient for listeners to tune in and for us to perform our duties. It’s tough staying up late on Sunday night when you start your work week Monday morning. Also, the structure of the WMUC Digital studio will make it much easier for us to videotape interviews, so will be able to provide our listeners with better visuals of our show. In short, the move just made sense! So make sure you tune into the Hip-Hop Corner at its new place, WMUC Digital, and new time, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.! Thanks!
TONIGHT is our last show on FM!!! We’re changing time and channel to WMUC Digital from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.!!! We decided to choose a new format for more freedom! So from now on, after TONIGHT, make sure you tune into the Hip-Hop Corner ever Sunday afternoon on WMUC Digital from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.!!! But, for now, enjoy our last show on FM!!! Click below…

It’s about to get real on THE HIP-HOP CORNER TONIGHT. Shy Glizzy is coming to WMUC Studios for a LIVE interview TONIGHT. We’ve heard about the 3-way beef between him, Fat Trel and Wale that has now been supposedly squashed. And we’ve heard about the beef between him and Chief Keef that sparked over the summer. Despite all the beef talk, Shy Glizzy has demonstrated the ability to make hot singles and he seems to be on the cusp of blowing up. We’re covering everything TONIGHT and no topic will be off limits, so tune in and enjoy the ride!! There’s only one place to be TONIGHT from 9PM to 12AM and that’s right here on THE HIP-HOP CORNER!!
As I’m typing this message I’m listening to “Stay” on Nas’ new album “Life Is Good”, thinking about just how wonderful this life is… Last night on the show I, DJ Boss Player, reviewed Nas’ newest work live on the air song-by-song. I had waited all week to listen to the album so that last night on the show would be the first time I heard it. My feedback was honest. And the album is AMAZING. To get my in depth review of the album, just download the show. In addition to reviewing the album, I inserted little anecdotes about my life story and my views of the music industry and of American society, in general. Last night was memorable for me. If you feel so inclined as to check it out, I hope you enjoy this week’s show and give me some feedback. Cheers, let’s toast to the good life… CLICK HERE TO TO DOWNLOAD THIS WEEK’S SHOW (Only Available from 7/23/12 to 7/28/12)
Life is good here at The Hip-Hop Corner. We have established a place of prominence here in the DMV hip-hop community. We have fans around the world. We’ve interviewed major celebrities like Maya Angelou, Bun B and Mac Miller, to name a few. And, we are considered one of the most legendary shows in WMUC history. Those are just a few of our accomplishments. All praise and glory go to God because without him none of this would be possible. In addition to our collective family and friends, thanks goes to YOU for supporting us and tuning in. Really, for just giving a crap, we truly appreciate you. We love to celebrate life here at The Hip-Hop Corner. We are centered around the founding principles of hip-hop, which are peace, love, unity and having fun. What better way to celbrate life than to do a complete and comprehensive LIVE album review of Nas’ album “Life Is Good”, which dropped last Tuesday?! DJ Boss Player has purposely been avoiding listening to “Life Is Good” all week so he could give you spur of the moment and instant feedback to Nas’ album live TONIGHT on The Hip-Hop Corner. We’re old school here at The Hip-Hop Corner. Our show is centered upon the same principles as the legendary Afrika Bambaataa’s original hip-hop radio program, which are “peace, unity, love and having fun, fun, fun…”. We want to make a difference here at The Hip-Hop Corner and bring some positive energy to this planet. Along those lines, no show we’ve ever done is more important than the episode that is available for download this week. We brought in my professor at the University of Maryland, a renowned hip-hop activist and published author, Solomon Comissiong, to speak out on hip-hop and how it relates to the larger American culture and society. We spoke out on a wide range of issues from corporate manipulation of hip-hop artists to propaganda in the media to institutional racism to the prison industrial complex and more… The conversation got very deep and very controversial. Believe me, the powers that be don’t want these types of conversations on the radio! So, take some time out to be entertained and most importantly informed and DOWNLOAD THIS WEEK’S RECORDED EPISODE by CLICKING HERE. (This week’s episode is only available from 6/25 to to 6/30.)

This week’s episode of The Hip-Hop Corner was lyrically vicious. Baltimore rapper Swagga Boy Los, who’s on the short list of next-to-blow hip-hop artists, called in and blessed us with a one-of-a-kind interview. One word to describe Los… Bars. And, talented DMV rapper Lyriciss, who lives up to his name, lyrically, graced us with his presence in the studio and spit some dope verses and freestyles live on the air. You can hear all of that and more in this week’s episode at the recorded show link >> Check it out!!!
